Strelka was named after the second dog in space (after all, this litter had the Astronomy theme).  The word also means “arrow” in Russian.  Strelka smiled a lot, in fact she taught all others to smile.  She loved being a house dog and she ruled Ostrov Borzoi.  Strelka was so lucky to live on the beautiful Lopez Island with Tricia.  We feel that Strelka had a gorgeous and correct structure to go with her fantastic personality.  She was a beautiful and sound mover, with a great tail, nice neck, feet, and muscled loin.  Strelka and Tricia were a great team in the ring and won big.  Strelka produced two litters (see S Litter and C Litter).  The first was sired by our “Roosik” Am Can Ch Zabava Winter Palace, CGC* and it was a singleton “Scoutie” Am Ch Ostrov Zabava Swarovski.  The second litter of 9 was truly stellar, sired by “Captain” Am GCH Zabava Bering Strait*, it contained a World Champion, a Top Borzoi, 7 champions, 4 grand champions, two obedience dogs and, all, wonderful and sweet companions.  Strelka was the #1 Producing Dam in the United States in 2012.

• #1 Producing Dam in 2012 with 5 AKC champions

• Best in Specialty Show, 2007 Puget Sound Borzoi Club, breed specialist judge Ms. Barbara Ewing, Kirov Borzoi

• Multiple BOB winner from the classes, including Trophy-Supported Entry shows

• WB two days in a row at the TSE shows at the Seattle Kennel Club

• Finished her American championship title before the age of two

• RWB to a major the first time out (back when it took 12 for a major)

• One JC leg

• BOS winner at the 2006 PSBC TSE the day after the PSBC specialty
