Roosik was a very big boy, standing at 35″ at the shoulder, yet he was light on his feet, sound to the day he passed away at nearly 12 years of age, and agile on turns. He had a head and expression to dies for, in fact, he literally would stop traffic with his looks and has been called “magnificent” by perfect strangers. He sure could cover ground with those long strides. Also, he had full dentition, scissors bite and beautiful extension on the move. Roosik had dark eyes, small high-set ears, and a perfect straight and long tail, carried low. He absolutely loved to show and was always enthusiastic and confident. Roosik went to his first lure-trial at 6.5 years of age and earned one JC leg – watching him run the course and make all the turns was a real thrill. Roosik is the sire of our B Litter and the Ostrov/Zabava S Litter. Frozen semen available to approved bitches.
Roosik’s accomplishments include:
• AOM, 2004 Centennial Borzoi Club of America National Specialty, with 600 Borzoi competing, sighthound specialist judge Gerda Kennedy
• Group winner on the way to his championship
• Multiple Best of Breed winner
• Best Senior Dog in Futurity, 2000 BCOA National Specialty, breed specialist Ms. K.C. Artley (Tahoe Borzoi)
• CGC title, trained for CD
